Frequently Asked Questions
How does bold text work without HTML?
It uses Unicode Mathematical Bold characters — a separate block of letter shapes that look bold but are plain text characters, not HTML tags.
Will it work on Instagram and Twitter?
Yes. Instagram bios, Twitter/X profiles, LinkedIn posts, Discord, WhatsApp, and most social platforms support these Unicode characters.
Why don't numbers look bold in Italic mode?
There are no Mathematical Bold Italic digit characters in Unicode. Numbers stay unchanged when Italicize is on, but are converted in pure bold mode.
Can I reverse it back to normal text?
Yes. Paste the bold text into the input and it will remain bold-encoded, not convert back. To get plain text, retype or paste the original.
Does it work in Google Docs or Word?
It pastes as Unicode plain text. Editors that support Unicode will show the bold characters correctly.
Is the text searchable after pasting?
Unicode bold characters are distinct code points, so search engines may or may not index them as their plain letter equivalents depending on the platform.
