How do I generate random teams?
Paste or type your names in the box on the left, one per line. Set the number of teams with the slider, then click Generate Teams. Teams appear instantly on the right.
How are teams balanced?
Names are shuffled randomly and then distributed round-robin across teams. With 7 names and 3 teams, teams get 3, 2, and 2 members. No team gets more than one extra member compared to the others.
Can I generate teams with custom names?
Yes. Enable Custom team names in the settings panel. An input appears for each team where you can type anything you like instead of Team 1, Team 2, and so on.
What if I have more teams than people?
The tool automatically caps the number of teams at the number of people entered. If you enter 4 names and request 6 teams, you get 4 teams of 1 person each.
How do I copy the results?
Click the Copy Results button after generating. The team names and member lists are copied to your clipboard as plain text, ready to paste into a message, email, or document.
Is the team generator free?
