How random are the generated passwords?
They use crypto.getRandomValues(), a cryptographically secure random number generator built into every modern browser. This is the same source used by password managers and security tools.
How long should my password be?
At least 12 characters for most accounts. 16 or more is recommended for important accounts like email, banking, and admin logins. Length is the single most important factor for security.
Should I include symbols?
Yes when the site allows it. Symbols increase the character pool and make brute-force attacks much harder. If a site disallows symbols, a longer all-alphanumeric password compensates.
What are ambiguous characters?
Characters like 0 (zero) and O (letter O), or 1 (one), l (lowercase L), and I (uppercase i) that look nearly identical in many fonts. Excluding them prevents transcription errors when reading passwords aloud.
Is the password stored anywhere?
No. Passwords are generated and displayed only in your browser using the Web Crypto API. They are never sent to any server or logged anywhere.
