How do I unscramble letters?
Type your letters into the input box and click Unscramble. The tool checks every possible combination against a 170,000-word dictionary and shows all valid results grouped by length.
What dictionary does it use?
It uses the ENABLE word list, which is the same dictionary used in competitive Scrabble in North America. It covers over 170,000 valid English words.
How do I use blank tiles or wildcards?
Type ? or * in place of any blank tile. The solver substitutes every possible letter for each wildcard and includes all valid words it finds.
How many letters can I enter?
You can enter up to 15 letters including wildcards, which covers the maximum rack size in most word games.
Is my input sent to a server?
No. The dictionary is downloaded to your browser once and cached for your session. All word matching happens locally with no server involved.
Why does it take a moment the first time?
The dictionary file is about 1.5 MB and loads the first time you search. It is then cached for the rest of your session so all subsequent searches are instant.
